Flash fiction is a type of story that is told in no more than 1500 words, sometimes even fewer than 1000. Each year, the Roanoke Writers Conference has a flash fiction contest, open to teens and adults alike. This year, the contest will be hosted by our own Michelle Muenzler and new to the conference Mark Nobles, as well as Alicia Holston. Submissions are now open, and the deadline to submit your entry is October 31 at midnight. Please submit your entry to aholston@roanoketexas.com. Be sure to indicate if you are entering the teen or the adult contest. Thanks, and happy writing!
